Isle of Islay (Scotland), you meet the famous distillery Bruichladdich. There was recovered an ancient copper pot still, affectionately called "Ugly Betty" (Betty the Ugly) to distill one of Gin purest and complex market, with production limited to 15,000 bottles. This gin, for the very high percentage of herbs, was christened "Botanist". Of the 31 botanical elements that make this recipe, 22 are native of Islay, including juniper. Botanist is crystal clear, although it has not been filtered cold. The aroma is elegant and clean, with aromas of sea salt (unlike normal Islay) and with a sweet aftertaste of juniper berries. On the palate is fine and dry, with the persistence of bitter touches of pepper, spices, lemon zest and pear. The consistency is creamy and clean.
