Flagship Bastianich Vespa Bianco was created to highlight the power and the evolution of a great white Friulian can achieve. The Vespa manages to transcend the sum of its parts, confirming a wine of complexity and longevity out of the ordinary.
45% Chardonnay, 45% Sauvignon Blanc,
A close balance of citrus and mineral notes, which in time become a denser feeling of wild flowers, clover honey and ripe pear. Tannic acid and its structure makes it immediate impact, as well as giving longevity. In fact, the Vespa Bianco can be further aged up to 7-10 years after harvest.
Perfect match with chicken and roast turkey, but you can also drink from 'starter no to seconds.
Chardonnay and Sauvignon are vinicati separately, 50% in oak barrels to 4,000 liters, and 50% in stainless steel. Picolit fermented in barrels of 500 liters. The malolactic fermentation is limited to 60%. After vinicazione, the wines rest of scum in their tanks for almost a year. So, are mixed and anati bottled for a further year.
